About the Author – Ashley Haynes – The Stolens, a Novel
Ashley Haynes was born in Oakville in 1996. She grew up in a 
creative household that always encouraged her to pursue her dreams. Ashley and her younger sister got along well (most of the time!) and together created many “playworlds” as children. This creative play inspired Ashley to begin writing and in grade 4 she teamed up with her friend to begin a children’s book, which is on the back-burner for now, but not forgotten. She’s always dreamed of becoming a published author.
In grade 6 Ashley entered the national student competition for Polar Expressions Publishing and was ecstatic to find that her entry, which was a chapter from the children’s book, had made it into the published collection. Each year from grade 6 through 12 she submitted a new short story and each year it was published. In grade 12 an entry was sent in for Literary Teens Halton. This story was published as well and marked the 8th time her stories had been shared with the writing community.
Ashley wrote many short stories while in high school and began two novels, one of which is The Stolens. Over the years she put her heart into creating this book, and getting feedback from friends and family. Though there were times when school and college got in the way, Ashley always had her family there to encourage her.
After a one year program at Sheridan college Ashley decided to take a couple years to work, write and decide which avenue to pursue. She is planning on returning to school for Journalism, Photography or Film. Ashley has also been a Production Assistant in two films, one of which will be released on DVD in 2017.
Though writing is Ashley’s number one passion, she also has a love for Photography and Art, as well as digital design. If you can’t find her at her computer she is likely outside with her camera, painting in the craft-room or spending time with her barnyard pets.
